The house was built into the rock by Albert and Gladys Christensen, beginning in 1945. Much of the work of creating the openings in the rock and removing the excess stone was done with hand-turned drills and wheelbarrels. Unfortunately, the house was unfinished when Albert died in 1957, but Gladys had completed it by the time she passed away in 1974. Photography isn't allowed inside the house, but look at all the fun stuff they have outside!
